Sports complex
The City of Elkton just passed and ordinance allowing the council to seek out grants to get a sports complex in the city. This is a great move for the city.
The City-County Park is just not big enough for everyone. By getting the sports complex, the park could offer sports longer and possibly have more categories.
People need to get behind this project and do all that can be to make the sports complex a reality.

What would a new sports complex look like? What would it offer? Indoor/outdoor facility, swimming pool, skateboarding, kind of like the YMCA's in TN, maybe?
Not quite that fancy. At least not yet. It would offer additional outdoor sports — larger and more soccer, baseball and softball fields. It would also free up the park on South Main for intramural sports like the co-ed softball team that someone is trying to get together. It would also allow the smaller kids to use the park without the danger of getting hit with flying balls. Although an indoor/outdoor facility, swimming pool and skateboarding would be wonderful activities to be able to offer. Hopefully we can get something like that in the future.
