The school board were the ones that selected the candidate committee, but they felt they should handle it themselves. It is very odd, but not illegal. Did I mention it was odd?
Drummond's status is normal for employees suspended with pay. That is Bruce Gray's call and always has been, but it is better to treat all suspended employees the same no matter what the reason for the suspension might be.
The sheriff department is answering calls... now.
The jail should be finished between April and July and not a minute sooner.
So, basically, know one knows for sure not even the guys that are building the place.
It's no wonder that Todd County's growth has utterly stagnated. Maybe if the Boys' Club who run the county had allowed some business development fifteen or twenty years ago, my generation could have half a chance of making a living without needing to drive 30 miles away from Elkton. Why on earth would any factory come here now? Trying to keep our quaint little area untouched will soon make it nothing better than a ghost town.
Congrats on the awards. As a new-comer here (will be one year since we moved here from Clarksville)it is nice to see a newspaper ask the hard questions of the local government and to hold them accountable (the paper in Clarksville, The Leaf Chronicle, is often lacking in this area -- which is why it is often refered to as the "Laughing Chronicle" or "The Leaf Compost".)
