Election forum

Sometime in April there will be a forum for the countywide candidates. It will be covered by the Standard, New Era, and TV-43. It will also be live on WEKT. There will be a chance for readers to propose questions and the Standard will publish them. But here is your chance to offer up some questions that you'd like to ask the candidates.

Let's start today with Judge-Executive.

What would you like to ask the candidates for the county's top office?

1. How do you plan to raise enough revenue to run the county government effectively?
2. What are the 3 most important things that you want to accomplish as County Judge, and how to you plan to get them done?
3. What does the political party that you belong to stand for, and why are you a member of that party?

Instead of being a place to work, perhaps Todd County should market itself as "a place to call 'home'". Let Hopkinsville and Clarkvsille become the metro areas and Todd County be the suburb of choice.

Would you sign a pledge that you will not hire another person for a contracted job without advertising said job and receiving bids for the work.
This pledge would also include using the lowest bid to accomplish the work to save the county money.

comsense101...it's the law that any job over $20,000 be bid. They shouldn't have to sign a pledge.
