History quiz

Here is an exercise for the old noodle; who do you think is the most famous or infamous person from Todd County BESIDES Robert Penn Warren and Jefferson Davis?

My vote, Donnie McGhee… that man is known just about everywhere.

That is true. Have you ever read Confederates in the Attic? Man, that book was tough on Mike.

That would have to be James McReynolds. He is largely forgotten now, but he was US Attorney General, and a justice on the US Supreme Court. Not bad for an Elkton boy.

Gen. Ralston from Farview was also a huge commander. I think he was the Joint Chief of staff or NATO commander. Or both...

I once heard that the man who played Sargent Carter on the old Gomer Pyle TV show was from, or had once lived in Elkton. Is there anything to that?

We have several well known members of society that either live here or did live here during their life. Carl Hadden is a name not to forget. As he served as a Senator for Kentucky. And still resides in Todd County.
