Tax Raise?

Many saw the public jail meeting the other night as a waste of time, but some great things came from it. First, according to a couple of officials, the Gov.'s Dept. for local government can come in and make the county meet its debt if we are unable to pay.

Now, what can they do? Well, they can make us raise taxes to a record high, among other things that I promise you don't want to think about.

Also, the estimates have been wild and many, but if the worst-case $500,000 bill is what it will take to move the ambulance then that is a bad, bad thing. And taxes will go up...

Anybody out there have any ideas?

Ok here is a thought, Purchase the building for 130,000.00 and do the reconstruction ourselves with out the aid of an outside company, seems the road department has plenty of time on their hands. I know that the amubulance crew has time on theirs. Having a inspector in control to make sure that everything is done according to code is all we would need. I would help and I know that a lot of other people would to. 120 days till they have to be out!!!! No problem, concentrate on the dispatch center than the ambulance. Seems to me I saw an ambulance in the rain doing just fine they do not have to be garaged 100% of the time. As far as the raising of taxes goes it will happen trust me the estimate for expences is off about $200,000.00 on the new jail and with the soon to be realized reitrement hike for the county they will have to raise taxes and keep them up. Better get the industry in here now or they will never come.

Great idea...the road department and the ambulance crew building our 911 Emergency dispatch center. No experience necessary. I think this has been a problem in the County for a while now.
