What questions would you like to be asked to the Sheriff candidates if you were the moderator at the upcoming forum?

WELLS and STOKES

1. Are you a certified police officer?

2. Have you been trained as a police officer?

3. Are special deputies a financial or legal liability for the county?

4. Why are more grant's not gotten for the office?

5. Can anyone that is not a police officer or a trained police officer run for Sheriff?

Both men are good men and I am undecided as to who I am going to vote. An answer to these questions will help me in deciding and will put to rest some rumors that I have heard.

1. What percentage of the sheriff's budget goes to the transporting of jail inmates housed outside of Todd County, and what is that dollar amount?
2.Is it required for the sheriff to transport inmates housed in other jails or could the jailer and his staff do this?
3. If the jailer can transport these prisoners, how many deputies would be needed to provide full time county patrols?

My question will be "What one quality makes you a better candidate than your opposing candidates?"
If they let us ask a 2nd, it will be "Why do the sheriff's deputies drive the county's cars home and back to work?" That is a waste of gas money that we can no longer afford. I understand the Sheriff's need for his car, but I don't get free gas to and from my job!
