Closed meeting in Guthrie
This information came too late for last week's newspaper, but the City of Guthrie had a closed session during its regular meeting to discuss the possible acquisition of land.
Could this mean there has finally been a budge on the Kentucky side of the border when it comes to a big factory? To be honest, this couldn't come at a better time for Todd County — even if it is a small factory — the unemployment has held steady at around 13 percent for months.
This could be the first boost to come directly from Hemlock Semiconductors being located right across the border...

I hope it means something....but I've heard nothing.
I be very shock and surprise if any businesses decide to locate in guthrie-ky area of todd county-ky.Guthrie-ky has no services to offer any new business , no good cell telephone service , no good high speed internet service carriers for guthrie-ky and todd county-ky.
Anonymous, Get your facts straight. Guthrie has great high speed internet service and our property values are going to far exceed that in elkton. I give Guthrie 10 years, and It will double the size of elkton with population and economically.
