So, he's not going to represent himself? When a county department official hires a lawyer, does he have to present the council's rate & estimated billing to the court for approval like bids for other services or equipment, or can he just go out and get the most expensive lawyer there is and let the taxpayers pick up the tab later?

The bills will be paid by Stokes. However, in his lawsuit with the county, he might get his money back if he wins.

Stokes has hired David Broderick who is a high priced defense attorney who takes a lot of cases that no one else wants to defend. Should be interesting. Wonder where Stokes is getting the money to pay this guy since according to the papers he isn't getting paid and that's why he is suing the county. Somehing is fishy in Todd County.

It's probably the lawyer that's fishy.

Who cares ? Seems like everyone is caring more about what he is doing instead of what is really going on. Officers will get onto you about your dogs barking , but when there are drugs , they seem to be looking the other way, people speed all up and on side roads where there are older people and children , nothing is done , but yet you sit on your front porch after hours , and they want to why. Ok ,now that sounds "fishy" to me...
