A place to call home

In a recent post....

Instead of being a place to work, perhaps Todd County should market itself as "a place to call 'home'". Let Hopkinsville and Clarkvsille become the metro areas and Todd County be the suburb of choice.

That makes me wonder...

We are all looking for ways to help "save" Todd County from itself, would an influx of people that work somewhere else be so bad? The property taxes garnered alone could go a long way to helping the county provide better basic services.

Perhaps you are not familiar with Mt Juliet or LaVergne TN. These were once small communities with limited resources. As people worked in Nashville and went "home" to these areas, businesses followed the crowd. LaVergne boasts one of the largest subdivisions in TN. . .Lake Forest and Mt Juliet recently saw the boom with Providence Place shopping and community. It can be done, but it will take developers. Question is will those developers be local or outsiders?
