Mike Sears, a good guy and Todd Countian, is the new parole and probation officer for the county. He called the other day and said he hoped to get a Crimestoppers program similar to the one in Christian County here.

I think this is a great idea. One snag could be the fact that in Christian County the Crimestoppers offer rewards. I feel that really makes the program a success.

Could we do that here?

And would there be people out there that would help raise the money for rewards?

Crimestoppers is a good idea, but if we don't want to fund parks, jails, etc. would we be willing to donate for rewards?

Absolutly it is a good idea, I personnally would donate to it's success, on one condition that you could gaurantee me that an investigation would take place. It has been my experience that if you do not have alot of money they will take a report and let your insurance handle it.

How about all the money generated by the bingo operations in the southern end of the county? That might be a source of funds for Crimestoppers.

Most of the money that comes from the Hopkinsville one is donated through a telethon... So, yes, donations would be the lifeblood of a program like this.
